Hope and Care Ministries envisions an empowered society with equal opportunities and easy access to much needed Social, Economic and Spiritual services for all.
Ensure that everyone at the under privileged level of society has access to basic needs of life and has been enabled to be productive, self reliant and self sufficient through;
Hope and Care Ministries was founded in 2001 by John Akiza as Kalonga Pentecostal Church ( The now Hope City Church) foundation in Kalonga – Mubende District. He did this to solve the issues he faced during his church planting years in the early 90’s where the churches he planted where filled with people who were illiterate and subjected to abject poverty. This coupled with fact that there where many orphans in the area as many people were dying of various diseases with others abandoning their children.
John with few members started a home fellowship in the year 2002 and they started taking care of the needy and orphans by feeding and clothing them, engaging in community development work such as cleaning water sources (ponds), clearing roads overgrown with weeds among others, growing in numbers as they worked together.
While keeping the community in prayer, a way emerged and eventually in 2010; we acquired a property which became our base and were hope and care school was started under tree shades, despite being affected by the elements (Rain, heat and the cold), children in the area never stopped attending the school and as fate would have it, temporal structures made of wood were erected to serve as classrooms and accommodation for the school children. This greatly improved the standard of living and study conditions for the children.
Hope changes everything!
